ATB LAUNCHES FIRST ENHANCED SECURITY TESTED ALUMINIUM PARALLEL
OPENING WINDOW
ATB Systems has launched what it believes to be the first parallel opening aluminium commercial window, successfully tested to Warrington Certification’s STS202 standard for the enhanced security of windows and doors.

Products portfolio, the new Taurus Max Parallel Opening window is ideal for commercial buildings such as offices, schools and hospitals where improved air exchange is important. The added enhanced security testing makes the new window an even more attractive option – combining environmental benefits with the reassurance of enhanced security in one product.
UK’s 1st Aluminium Suite of Windows with the recognised commercial security standard as specified by Secured by Design Schools 2010, the new Taurus Max Parallel Opening Window and Fixed Light has been successfully certificated to STS202 BR2 level.
The new Taurus Max Parallel Opening Window has been successfully tested to BR2 level (recognised by Secured by Design) , which showed that the product withstood resistance to opportunist attempts at entry using a range of techniques, including the creation of noise, such as breaking glass. This standard exceeds the current domestic standards BS7950:1997 usually applied to the testing of residential windows and PAS 24:200 for doors, which ATB believes is a key benefit for its Taurus Max Parallel Opening Window.

When open, the Taurus Max Parallel Opening Window allows air to penetrate around its entire perimeter, allowing highly efficient ventilation by increasing air flow by almost double in comparison to a traditional top hung window. This creates less draft in a room since the open space is more evenly distributed around the frame.
In addition, the Taurus Max Parallel Opening Window offers in-built safety since the parallel opening is restricted to 100mm, significantly increasing security when the window is open, making it ideal for school buildings.
