ATB Products
The TAURUS window is of the highest quality to BS 4873, designed for severe conditions to meet the relevant British Standards. The system is thermally broken, pressure equalized, drained and ventilated. Window combinations with fixed, top hung or side casements can be offered within the same outer frame. Corners are mitred, mechanically cleated and sealed with silicone sealant.
Fixing details:
Equal leg. This frame is used in commercial or domestic applications usually into brickwork. Fixing can be either directly through the frame where glazing of the fixed lights would then be undertaken in situ, or alternatively with fixing lugs, which must be later concealed under plasterboard.
Finish:
Natural Anodised or Polyester Powder Coated to a variety of standard colours.
Glazing:
Selected in accordance with BS 6262 & BS 952: part 1, D/G units to BS5713, and safety glass to BS6206. To conform to the current building regulations double glazed units are supplied with low emissivity soft coated glass, 20mm cavity filled with Argon gas to provide a ‘U’ value of 2.1W/m2K. Standard units are made up with annealed or laminated glass, soft coated to the inner pane but can be combined with toughened or wired glasses such as georgian wired pyroshield, and also can be supplied with solar control glasses such as Pilkington anti-sun and Ipasol Solar control glass. The system can accommodate up to 28mm of double glazing, set in place using suitable glazing blocks and held in position using aluminium glazing beads with a retained gasket externally and an internal push in wedge. For extra security internal glazing beads can be provided in the opening lights.
Note: Although pyroshield safety glass can be used where specified we would advise that aluminium windows do not have a fire rating.
Fittings:
Lockable cockspur handles in silver or white, and stainless steel friction hinges are fitted as standard. Espagnolette locking handles can be supplied with the internally beaded version.
Other options include:
- Friction hinges with built in restrictors (releasable in emergency).
- Separate permanent restrictors.
- Cam openers with or without joining bar.
- Butt hinges.
Trickle ventilation:
Permanent background ventilation can be provided using our standard through frame ventilator centred above an opening light. This is approximately 640mm long and provides a minimum of 4000mm2 of adjustable trickle ventilation. Alternatively, where additional ventilation is required or in fixed lights, glazed-in ventilators can be fitted allowing up to 15000mm2 of adjustable ventilation per metre length.
Weatherstripping:
Purpose designed EPDM extrusions in accordance with DIN7863, TV110, NFP85301 and ISO3994 are used for both internal and external weather seals.
Safe replacement glazing:
In the event of breakage of glass, the security wedge can be removed enabling the glazing beads to be taken out and the glass replaced without disturbing the outer frame.
Safety in normal use:
The opening sashes can be restricted if required.
Sizes:
Single top hung opening light max. recommended width 1200mm, height 1200mm.
Single side hung opening light max. recommended width 700mm, height 1200mm.
Fixed light max. recommended width 2000mm, height 2000mm.
