Bolsover Council Changing Room Facility

18 Jul 2014

ATB were asked by Bolsover District Council to survey the Changing Room Facility at a Football Pitch, where most of the windows over a period of time had been broken into or attacked by vandals.

As the building was unattended most of the time and in a vulnerable location, it was decided that the TAURUS MAX Window with a ‘Drop Back’ window (inward opening hopper) incorporating our integral anti-vandal mesh would be the most suitable replacement for the existing damaged windows.

Combining the drop back window with an external mesh screen allows the window to be opened for ventilation whilst still remaining secure. Even if the window was left unlocked accidentally the building would still be secure. A T B’s unique glass protection mesh is ‘built in’ as part of the integral profile resulting in attractive clean lines, providing a visual yet discreet physical barrier whilst still permitting an excellent light transmittance of 60%. This should not be confused with retro-fit mesh screens that can restrict light and would prevent outward opening windows being used for normal ventilation purposes, a situation which would not be suitable for changing rooms.

Bolsover Council chose to have the windows powder coated in black to match the finish on the mesh, which gave a great new look to the building as well as providing the security they required.
