Rural offices enhance security with Taurus Max windows
Specialist precision engineering company Pro-Mil has specified Taurus Max commercial aluminium windows from ATB Systems to enhance security at its rurally-located office and factory in the Midlands.
Although set on the edge of an attractive country park location, Pro Mil’s offices are isolated and, as well as potential break-ins, the building has been subject to air rifle attack in the past, so security is particularly important. As a result, Pro-Mil specified Taurus Max external composite fixed light and top hung casement windows with integrated anti-vandal mesh to both the main offices and factories. Taurus Max Casement windows are some of the most secure standard aluminium casement windows on the market, following testing to BS7950 by leading test house Exova Warrington APT.
Additional security has been built in to the Taurus Max casement windows with ATB Systems’ unique anti-vandal mesh which gives a visual and physical deterrent without compromise on light transmission. Not to be confused with retro fit mesh and frames that can stop or restrict light or the opening, the mesh incorporates the glass protection mesh as part of the integral profile resulting in clean lines, anti tamper performance and excellent light transmittance of 60%. Externally the windows at Pro-Mil appear to be glazed with a attractive bronze tinted glass but the mesh offers considerable protection against break ins and air rifle attack as well as being a visual deterrent.
As well as Taurus Max windows, the new Orion door from ATB has been installed at the premises. This robust, anti vandal aluminum security door features a heavy duty extrusion design incorporating a 12SWG grade 304 stainless steel continuous hinge, anti leverage door profiles and security beads, coupled with perimeter weather strips and DDA compliant threshold. Locks on the door have been tested to commercial security standards, recognised by Secured by Design. The door is ideal for entry at sites such as Pro-Mil where durability, reliability and security are important, but where an attractive entrance is also required.
The unique combination of enhanced security but with visually attractive windows and doors means that Pro-Mil has managed to retain a pleasant working environment but with the added security that the location demands.
